What does 24 hours look like in #America? @ニューヨーク・タイムズ journalists sought to capture the untold stories of people throughout the U.S., those living lives of unannounced grace and dignity. The morning began with John Stark in #Florida, who slides his fishing boat into the water in the Everglades. In the afternoon, Clarissa Sabattis, chief of the Houlton Band of the Maliseets Indians, went to Meduxnekeag River in #Maine to take a break from the Recognition Day celebration. “On Recognition Day what we are really recognizing is ourselves, our culture and our perseverance,” she said. Later in the day, middle-school football coach Steve Sills walked his team, the Homewood Patriots, to the field on a rainy #Alabama day. They had never won a game, and weren't about to let the rain stop them from another go at it. In #Oregon, Molly Palmer's day ended late, at 3:19 a.m. She volunteers at Trans Lifeline, a nonactive rescue hotline organization that offers transgender peer support. Her final call left her feeling good, like she had made a difference in someone’s life. @scottymacphoto, @tspinski, @_melissagolden and @moriahratner took these photos of moments across the country.
