Say "Squawk!" to Katy, a young blue-eyed cockatoo from Jurong Bird Park’s @wrs.ig! This sweet girl is a little more than a year old and already has a reputation among her keepers for her mild mannerisms and her love for affection. Katy’s personality will come in handy when she interacts with guests as an ambassador for her species in the wild. Classified as vulnerable by IUCN, this species is declining because of habitat loss in their native lowland forests of Papua New Guinea. It is up to Katy and the team at @wrs.ig to engage with local community members and encourage them to protect the forests these birds call home.
