Yesterday, @mariancaa took this photo at Astoria Park Pool, where New Yorkers flocked to escape the heat. Braving the heat in NYC can feel like an achievement. Subway riders board trains freshly showered then exit feeling defeated, with swampy pants, matted hair and sweat marks on newly laundered shirts. But it’s not always bad to sweat. “You want to sweat because it helps to regulate body temperature and also helps to get toxins out,” Dr. Debra Wattenberg, an associate clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, told our reporter Alexandra S. Levine. How do you plan to stay cool as you celebrate the #FourthofJuly — in NYC or elsewhere? Let us know. #??
