The German village of Kallstadt doesn’t like to advertise its ancestral connection to @ドナルド・トランプ. “The topic is too controversial,” said Jörg Dörr, who works in Kallstadt’s tourism office. Both of the president’s paternal grandparents, Friedrich and Elisabeth #Trump, were born in Kallstadt. In Protestant Kallstadt, where volunteers diligently tend communal flower beds and vintners have run a cooperative for 116 years, Friedrich was a popular guy. But today, community’s relationship with Friedrich's grandson is troubled. “I have people peering through my window or knocking on my door all the time, asking ‘Where is the Trump house?’” said Manuela Müller-Wohler, who runs a nursery in the president’s grandmother’s childhood home. After his election, local hotels received boycott threats and some cancellations from longtime customers. Emails arrived from all corners of Germany, challenging the “Trump village” to take a stance. When the president was inaugurated, Ursula Trump, who runs the Trump Bakery in the next village, made spongecakes covered in stars, stripes and edible pictures of #DonaldTrump. “It was a joke,” she said. But neighbors started boycotting her bakery, and she did not make the cake again. “You can’t choose your relatives, can you?” @lena_mucha took this photo of Ursula.
