This Order of St. Andrew, bestowed in 1874 upon George, Duke of Cambridge (1819-1904), King George III’s grandson, forms part of a group of Royal Orders and medals which belonged to Princes Adolphus and George, respectively first and second Dukes of Cambridge, and father and son who both represented the ages into which they were born. Over 80 lots are currently on display in our #London galleries, ahead of tomorrow’s sale in association with Morton & Eden Ltd, alongside a charming unpublished autograph letter signed from a five-year-old Princess Victoria, the future Queen of Great Britain, to her cousin George, on loan from the same family collection.
