Ash-covered home goods, including parts of a blender, are seen in an abandoned home in San Miguel Los Lotes, Guatemala, on June 5. "I felt an incredible sense of quiet," writes photographer @daniele_volpe, who is on the ground in this small village southwest of the capital, Guatemala City, following Sunday's eruption of the Volcán de Fuego. "Everything was covered in ash, silent, motionless." The volcanic activity left this community and several others smothered in ash; at least 99 people have been killed and some 200 others remain missing.
