“You can teach mental toughness. Everyone has that animal inside them. You just have to know how to get it out.” @raquel.harris was a competitive student of karate when she snapped her kneecap in half. So she took an instructor’s suggestion to try boxing while her leg healed. She began training at a gym in New Jersey that offered Muay Thai and wrestling classes. She was only there for the workout, she said, but the coaches encouraged her to fight. Then she saw @heathertheheat box on TV. Girls actually box, @raquel.harris said to herself. And they get paid for it. She started training seriously and met @angieoverkill, another veteran of the ring and the cage. When Raquel — who’s known as Rocky — looked at @angieoverkill’s belts, she said to herself, “If she can get one, I can get one.” For a fighter who at first feared contact, she now moves easily. “When you get hit,” she said, “you want to hit right back.” @jessierocks made this video; swipe left to see more photos of #RaquelHarris. #?
