A collection of 14 works by Alexandra Exter comes to auction next month from the collection of one of her closest friends Ihnno Ezratty. During the Second World War the artist had hidden Ezratty, a Sephardic Jew, from the occupying German forces during the mass arrest of Jews in France in 1942. In gratitude for all she had done for him, Ezratty begun buying her paintings and found her a studio enabling her to resume painting after the war. The collection includes three views of #Venice, one of Exter’s most celebrated subjects which she turned to after falling in love with the Italian Futurist Ardengo Soffici in the early 1910s. The works will be unveiled in #Moscow next week at the The Schusev State Museum of Architecture @arch_museum, in an exhibition sponsored by Gulf Sotheby's International Realty.
