The floodwaters ruined floors, walls, carpets, furniture, appliances and so much more. And yet the damage caused by Harvey was not total. The towers of debris cluttering the curbs of #Houston are a deceptive measure of the storm’s devastation. Some things — small things, personal things — survived. Tim Wainright and his daughter Haley, photographed here by @tamirhasacellphone, saved a Father’s Day card Haley made in first grade. “I look at this piece, and you know, for me, it had meaning before, but it has a lot more now,” Tim said. “The good thing is that, when pencil gets wet, it doesn’t erase,” Haley added. Swipe left to see @tamirhasacellphone’s photos of objects that survived #Harvey — and their owners: Maria Alvarado with a ceramic lamp, Shirley Hines with Fitz and Floyd cups and Sonia Saldana with a photo-booth snapshot of her and her husband.
