Photos by @CarltonWard // Light rain was falling steadily when Morgan Yates (@morgannn._03) climbed on her horse bareback and led me toward a favorite stretch of woods. She grew up in the saddle and carries her Seminole heritage with pride. I'd been photographing the Yates family rounding up cattle when we decided to make some portraits showing off traditional Seminole dress. The dim dusk light was a challenge and rain half drowned two cameras, but we had fun trying. Morgan was unfazed by the elements, not surprising when I learned at age six she drove a herd of cattle through an actual hurricane on her own horse. See more from this shoot and others @carltonward.
