A Saint Vincent amazon photographed at the @HoustonZoo. Saint Vincent amazons are the only parrot living on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent. They are born with one of two color morphs, either yellow or green, and have very distinct individual plumages. Virtually no two birds of this species look the same. This species is listed as vulnerable on the #IUCN Redlist due mainly to hunting for food, trapping for the cage-bird trade, and habitat loss.
