It can’t be easy to train for winter sports in Singapore. Yet 14-year-old Faliq Shazrin Alwi defied the odds and won 2 gold medals in speedskating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria in March.
He was among the many Singaporeans I met last night at the National Day Reception at the Istana. Had a good time catching up with old friends and meeting new faces.
