After reliving Groundhog Day countless times in the 1993 film, #BillMurray took in the #Broadway musical version, @groundhogdaybwy, for the first time yesterday, and exhibited a range of emotions throughout the night. #GroundhogDay — a story about a self-absorbed weatherman who keeps repeating the same day over and over again in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania — was considered by many critics to be a comic masterpiece. At the theater, the actor doled out quirky one-liners to gleeful fans who suddenly recognized him. During the first act, there were gestures and guffaws. But by the end of the performance, he was visibly sobbing. “The idea that …” he trailed off as he paused to collect his thoughts in an after-show interview with @soap07. “The idea that we just have to try again.
