@asapferg is hardly ever home. The rapper and fashion designer just wrapped up a tour and will soon go to South Africa and Australia. His second mixtape, “Still Striving,” comes out this month, which will mean more time on the road. Already he’s rarely able to sneak a few days in Harlem, where he grew up and still lives. But when he does, he often stays busy, with studio sessions and appearances. But then there are Sundays; Sundays are for him. @asapferg recharges and catches up with his friends and family and, among other things, sits very still on his couch. (“I may catch up on something ratchet like ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ just because it stops me from thinking for a hot second. It’s just like bliss, you know what I’m saying?”) Our reporter Greg Howard and the photographer @ryanchristopherjones followed #ASAPFerg around on a recent Sunday — a day that included some arts & crafts time (“I wanted to jazz up my jeans,” he said) and a visit from his barber. He has one in LA, and 2 in New York, “just in case one is not available.” His at-home haircut includes facials and massages, as well.
