What I have been feeding on in the last two days since I've come back from #Puglia to Rome. It's devilish hot in here, and I literally can't prepare anything to eat. So I feast on these beauties that I've brought home with me; they're called by different names in various dialects of southern Italy. They come in different sizes and hues too; some a lot greener, with stripes, some larger and pale green, some oval, some round. They are a cross between cucumbers and melons, and I can say they're one of the vegetables I ADORE. I like cutting them into chunks, add sone finely sliced onions and tons of fresh herbs (I like mint best, but tarragon is very nice too), dress with extra virgin olive oil and salt, and a splash of vinegar just because. I soak some barley frisa, and if I'm particularly hungry I open a can of tuna too. Delicious no-lunch for the days of Lucifer. (I ha e also given a restyling touch to #LabNoon's logo.
