A last check inside, knowing we've a year until we're back, and the sun peeked out for just a moment as I opened the screen door with a creak. We then went to the dock and said our goodbyes out loud to the lake, and Ellen teared up, as she always does, and then we held onto one another, all three of us, and walked back up the steps to drive away.
