@alexihobbs captured the #sunrise over Lake Champlain while on assignment for @nytimestravel in North Hero, Vermont. #LakeChamplain is enormous, 120 miles long and 12 miles wide. For outdoor lovers, its islands — with intriguing names like South and North Hero — are paradise: state parks, trails, beaches, campgrounds, farms and orchards. The area’s also home to hundreds of acres of wildlife refuges.
