Frank Lloyd Wright was born 150 years ago today. The fame architect’s principal creation in New York City was, of course, the Solomon R. #Guggenheim Museum, commissioned in 1945. In honor of its creator, the @グッゲンハイム美術館 threw a birthday party today — complete with cupcakes and a #FrankLloydWright impersonator, photographed here by @samuelhodgson. As the photographer explored the museum, “Wright found a way to present himself at every turn” — including “in the persistence of his design, the form of the building, or the way that the visitors interact simultaneously with the artwork and with one another,” @samuelhodgson writes.
