Some people love the morning, and the joy of rushing out to meet the new day, when all of life’s possibilities are out there to be grasped. Other people are sane. The photographer @sashafoto, 28, is part of this latter group; she rarely sees the sunrise. But in October 2014, when she was going through a painful breakup, @sashafoto thought it would be cathartic to do something physically strenuous. And so she forced herself to engage #NewYorkCity during its daybreak hours. “It was a love note to the city in the ways it has helped me through difficult times and created difficulties for me,” said @sashafoto, who completed the project with a grant from @redeemercfw. The work proved to be as therapeutic as she’d hoped. Perhaps her photos will inspire you to #wakeup early one morning this weekend. Or not. ? Swipe left to see more of @sashafoto’s photos of #NYC during its daybreak hours.
