it feels ages since I've awoken to sunlight instead of winters darkness - this beautifully cold clear morning is pouring light through every window and crack it can find - the kettle is heating and while I'm waiting on that first cup of strong earl grey I can help but think how quiet the house seems - that's the wonderful thing about house guests, they fill the space with conversations & laughter, and the kitchen with meals and commotion of pots and pans as everyone chips in to make coffee or breakfast and the table is always lively as you linger over empty dishes into the wee hours of the morning - all the every day moments feel that little extra bit more exciting that little bit more special -
