kicking off the weekend with a friday night family dinner - a simple pot of chowder sits warming on the stove and I've picked up a few loaves of crusty bread from the local bakery and a dark green kale salad with a few toasted hazelnuts and savory apple cider dressing to round it out - a humble meal indicative of the New England winter and comforting after a long week - a few cheeses by the fire after dinner perhaps though none so lovely as this gorgeous chunk of leicestershire from our time with @yankeemagazine at the lovely @larkhotels blue inn on plum island last weekend -
