in the darkness of the early new england evenings I find I am always grasping at every last little bit of light - trying to capture every last silvery slippery thread & naturally gravitate to things inclined to capture reflect and hold it - borne of the landscape of winter - I filled the table with those things that would reflect back the light silvery vintage flatware, elegantly thick bottomed glassware from @simonpearceinc, heavy bright white lines from @roughlinen smooth @myrthceramics on a farmtable polished by the hand of time and felled birch branches from the ancient trees at our farm which had come to rest naturally on the ground - we lit many candles and chatted on into the night, warmed by the sound of clinking glasses, mugs of clam chowder and creamy vegetable polenta -
