spindly blue and dark grey clouds string out across the winter sky and the brightness of a nearly springlike day has all but disappeared - that soul warming sunshine has vanished with it replaced instead with a grey closeness that makes it feel much later than it is - so I've taken the washing off the line and put the kettle on, lighting a few candles here and there making my own sort of brightness - candle light has a magic of its own especially that this time of year- I'm a big fan of lighting a few bees wax tapers in the dark corners of the season a few fresh bay leaves into the pot and the brew is and comforting as the candles and delightfully heady
