we knocked about inside the walls of this beautiful old New England farmhouse most hours over the weekend - chasing the light from room to room - watching it cast shadows and illuminate corners - but every once in a while I quietly slipped out the side door - to look out over the fields & ocean beyond and fill my lungs with a big sip of that sweet grassy warm mildly salty sea air - at some point I slipped out only to realize that the day too was slipping out & the sky was streaked in pinks and blues and the sun was hovering out over the horizon line loosing itself in the alabaster sky
