Many of you got it right! I photographed the ‘Force of Nature’ at Marina Barrage one evening last month. It is one in a series of sculptures by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, who sought to depict nature’s destructive power after seeing the impact of natural disasters around the world.
Singapore is fortunate to be sheltered from many natural disasters, but we too must respect nature. With global warming, we are seeing more extreme weather, dry spells and intense rainstorms. Even man-made incidents like the oil spill in the Johor Strait on Tuesday affect us, harming the wildlife and the livelihoods of people working in surrounding areas.
