Since early 2015, photographers on #nytassignment have shot tens of thousands of images and logged hundreds of thousands of miles while on the presidential campaign trail. On October 2, 2016, @heislerphoto, a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ staff photographer, took this photo of a woman listening to @ヒラリー・クリントン speak at Little Rock AME Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I think the best potential for genuine images is on the periphery,” said @heislerphoto. “I like to look away from the show, so to speak.” @ヒラリー・クリントン stayed at the church for the entire service, he said, which allowed photographers to move around. “When you’re at a rally you know everybody there — for the most part — is a supporter,” @heislerphoto said. A church service is different. And then there was this light — irresistible for any photographer. “You start with the light and then work your way back,” @heislerphoto said. ? We’re almost there. The presidential #election is just days away. As November 8 approaches, we're sharing memorable campaign photos that we’ve yet to publish here. Follow along. #campaignlookback
