Tomorrow morning, a cannon blast will signal the start of a 26.2 mile journey for the 50,000 runners aiming to complete the @nycmarathon. For most of them, making it to the start line is an accomplishment in itself. That's why we asked runners from all over the world to show us their perspective from the roads where they've logged hundreds of miles. The photographer @ashgilbertson — our #myrunlookslike champion, who frequently shares photos from his early-morning runs around New York City — took this photo in October underneath the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn. “Little tour through Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn this morning,” he wrote at the time. By that point, @ashgilbertson estimates, he’d run between 90 and 100 miles while working on the #myrunlookslike project. Today, we’re sharing pictures taken by other runners who’ve been pounding the pavement. Tap on the hashtag #myrunlookslike to see the full collection, and check out #runawaygilbertson to see more photos by @ashgilbertson. #? #?
