“Sometimes I'm amazed by what our legs can do,” @ashgilbertson, a photographer based in New York City, wrote last week on Instagram. He wondered if his dinner the night before — “1x bowl of Chinese noodles, 1x ice cream, 2x slices” — had provided the fuel he needed for his “accidental quick pace" that morning. (Everyone has a different pre-run fueling tactics.) Tomorrow morning, 50,000 runners will put their own strategies to the test as they aim to complete the @nycmarathon. As they prepare to approach the starting line for the final, 26.2-mile leg of their journey, we asked runners from around the world to give us a glimpse of some of the scenes they encounter while logging miles. @ashgilbertson — our #myrunlookslike champion — kicked things off for us while on #nytassignment in October. See more photos taken on the run: #myrunlookslike And see more of @ashgilbertson’s runs: #runawaygilbertson #? #?
