Young Singaporeans ask: “Will there be a future for us?” My answer is “Yes!” – as long as you are willing to work for it, not just for yourselves, but for each other.
Many young people came to the inaugural Dialogue with SITizens at @SingaporeTech last night. My theme was “Preparing for the Future Economy”, but students also asked me about the social stigma faced by those with mental illnesses, the rise of extreme politics elsewhere, and NS for women.
Good to see them engaged, informed, and interested in a wide range of issues. Ultimately, how well Singapore does, and what kind of society we become 30 years from now, depends on the next generation.
