Photo by @rezaphotography // #Afghanistan // The Soviets, emboldened by their military strength, thought they could rule over Afghanistan as they had already done with many of the southern “provinces” in the U.S.S.R. I took only two photographs crouching on the ground near Kabul. The fight was uneven, as the Russian missiles outmatched the resistance fighters’ machine guns. Nevertheless, Afghanistan never fell into the hands of the iron invader.
