Christian Borle has made his name with outrageous comic performances. His first major #Broadway gig was in “Spamalot,” which he followed up with Tony-winning performances in @starcatcherbway and @rottenbroadway. But now the 43-year-old actor is getting serious. This fall, he’s starring in the revival of “Falsettos,” a 1992 sung-through musical that a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ review that year called "exhilarating and heartbreaking.” Then, when his run in the show ends on January 8, Christian will abruptly shift gears and begin rehearsing for his role as the impish confectioner Willy Wonka in @charlieonbway. That’s 2 lead roles in a single season — quite a feat for an actor who has never opened on Broadway as a lead.
