Hari Raya is a week away. I was glad to attend an Iftar (break fast) with congregants, together with Minister Yaacob Ibrahim and Pasir Ris-Punggol MP Sun Xueling at Masjid Al Islah Punggol yesterday.
Here we are helping to pour out porridge into bowls, for the Iftar. This porridge was unusual - made with fish instead of the usual mutton, and was delicious!

The new mosque opened just before Ramadan last year, and has been warmly welcomed by the community (Muslims and others too) in Punggol.
My thanks to Dr Wan Rizal, the Chairman of Masjid Al-Islah, for showing me around. Thanks also to the volunteers, including many Bangladeshi workers, for working hard every day during Ramadan to cook and provide food for the congregants. – LHL (MCI Photo by Kenji Soon)
