Being positive is a choice, but it sure as hell isn't always an easy one. Taking the high road, looking on the bright side, every glass is always half full... It can all be exhausting and difficult to maintain at times. There's a saying in the nutrition world: "One day of clean eating wont give you the perfect body just like one cheat meal won't undo all of the results you've achieved." I think we can apply that mentality to life in general. What scares people about making health and fitness changes is the accountability. It's the fear of falling off or of not meeting the goals or expectations they set for themselves. You don't need to be perfect. So much of what you see on social media causes you to believe that the people you look up to aren't making mistakes or that they have the ability to stick to goals that you can't. They're all human just like you, and sometimes life gets in the way. We all fall down. We all trip up. It's not necessary for you to stay on the "right track" all the time, what's important is that you resolve to get up and try again even if you've failed horribly the day before. It's in those moments that we find that positivity, dedication, and greatness are not only a choice, but are within each of us. Even champions have bad days, but when you step back and examine their lives as a whole, you only see greatness. It's about consistency and discipline and only we can train ourselves in the outlook we have in life. Choose positivity.
