Photo: @stephenwilkes // Ancient and romantic, the sense of history and culture in Venice is palpable. The city’s canals and architecture are awe-inspiring on their own, but each September, the city travels back in time for just a day. At the Regata Storica festival, crews and boats are outfitted with clothing and dressings from the year 1489, creating an unimaginable scene of color, history, and culture.
This fall, I photographed the festival for my most recent image, Day To Night, Regata Storica, Venice.
