This image depicts Glacier National Park in an area where summer wildfires burned thousands of acres. The remains of the burned trees stick out of the landscape like discarded fish bones. For me, exploring the parks is a chance to reconnect with the humbling chaos and beauty of nature. It thrills me to know that President Obama has protected more land and water than any president in US history. Today the @The White House has announced 1.8 million new acres of protected public land in California: Mojave Trails National Monument, Sand to Snow National Monument, and Castle Mountains National Monument.
