“It’s like the band was forged in the crucible called friendship,” says U2 guitarist The Edge, about the group’s 39 years together. Those relationships that they’ve built up still hold today, as The Edge, lead singer Bono, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and bassist Adam Clayton (pictured) can attest to. They’re not just U2, nor just a band on the road playing songs, they are four lifelong friends traveling the world and enjoying one another’s company. Without that bond, they would have quit a long time ago.
