A bald #eagle surveys it territory from the top of a tall white pine, last week at Lake of the Woods, #Ontario, #Canada. For many years this particular #bird and Its mate nested in the same tree, but a couple of summers ago high winds snapped off a key supporting branch and their young plummeted to the ground. Even now, however, one, the other, or both still spend part of most days perching there, scanning the horizon for prey and whatever other lofty sights that eagles perceive. #moon #lakeofthewoods #notphotoshopped
