Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz The New York Central Building was built to complete the spectacular complex centered on #GrandCentralStation in 1929, providing a visual termination for Park Avenue. Today it’s called the Helmsley Building and the 1960’s behemoth behind it is the MetLife Building. This picture was taken last spring, when super-thin 432 Park Ave. was still on it's way to being the tallest residential building in the Americas.
