When I encounter an image from my archive that I had simply forgotten, it is like vividly remembering a moment in life. This photograph comes from my project about the Magdalena River and the surrounding territory that inspired the writings of Gabriel García Márquez. So it is fitting to quote the phrase with which he begins his autobiography, Living to Tell the Tale: "Life is not what one lived, but what one remembers and how one remembers it in order to recount it.” Cuando encuenntro una imagen en mi archivo que me había olvidado, es como una repentina y vívida membranza de un momento en la vida. Esta fotografía viene de mi proyecto sobre el Río Magdalena y el territorio circundante que inspiró a Gabriel García Márquez.
