Croatia may be most famous for its picturesque #DalmatianCoast dotted with medieval cities like Dubrovnik. But #Varazdin, an inland city of 50,000 one hour north of Zagreb, has an equally rich history, and over the last several years it has become even better known as a hub for culture. For a @nytimestravel story, @stillerakos photographed the city’s centerpiece, Stari Grad, a sprawling Gothic-Renaissance complex built between the 13th and 19th centuries as a military fortress.
