My second assignment for the National Geographic took me out of New York City to the North Pole. The April Japanese National Geographic is celebrating explorers for its 20th Anniversary, and asked me to write a story about my experiences with the late Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura and his trip by dog sledge to the Pole.
