Driving along a serpentine road near Zoji La in Indian-Kashmir, India. @tsetopgyal was 8 years old when his parents sent him across the Himalayas, on foot, to join the Dalai Lama and his fellow #Tibetans living in exile in Dharamsala, #India. Being in mountains like these makes many of them miss their homeland. @tsetopgyal, who hasn't seen his family since he left home, started documenting other young exiles who had been separated from their parents. He sees his images a way to show the world their difficulties. “There are many foreigners who do a lot of work on Tibet, but I thought that we know it best,” he said. #nyportfolio15 #lensblog
