What were your motivations back then? A: At that time, we already had social profiles on Facebook and Twitter, that were helping us develop a new and satisfactory way of communicating with travelers. The Catalan Tourist Board had in mind performing the first Instagram Trip to a Travel Destination, with the help of Instagramers Catalonia, and we definitely wanted to have the best international instagrammers as guests. ________________________________________ Q: How relevant is Instagram for Tourism Board like @catalunyaexperience? What benefits has Instagram brought you? A: We always think that each community deserves its own space and voice. People using Instagram for inspiration have their own code of communication. The light, emotions, different points of view… each pic is unique and shows our land in a very genuine way. Plus, it gave us a great opportunity to get in touch with the local community and meet international Instagrammers who love sharing abut Catalonia. ________________________________________ Q: How has Instagram helped you more than other social networks, to connect with your consumers? A: Besides the quality of the content that has been created, some interesting goals have been achieved. During the 2012 and 2013 Instagram Trips, 100 pics became popular. And 2.000.000 liked the images that were posted during the trips… that is truthful and is magic. ________________________________________ Q: When posting a media, what is your Like/Comment threshold that makes it acceptable? A: ☺ any! We have a strong and participatory community, any like, any comment… is of great value.
