Last year, I watched my boyfriend's mother fight her way through breast cancer. It was a scary and vulnerable time for the entire family and one where everyone put extra emphasis on what foods and activities would better her and her quality of life. I had always heard stories of people going through cancer, but had never experienced it so closely. It was a complete eye opener. This year, I have watched his mother return to the happy and beautiful woman that I met almost 3 years ago. She was fortunate enough to beat the cancer and since then, has made efforts to improve her lifestyle.
I know that cancer can be a scary word, as it's often associated with so much negativity. This year, in honor of breast cancer awareness month, Fit and Thick wants to shine light on the positive aspects. Many people who get diagnosed with cancer or who have beat it, make every effort possible to improve their health. They start shopping organic, get rid of harmful GMO's in the household, stay away from processed foods, quit smoking, and begin exercising. To support and promote this inspiring transformation, we will be donating three packages to breast cancer fighters or survivors in hopes that it will kickstart you towards a healthier path.
