Saddened by the loss of at least 12 Sherpas Friday - the deadliest day in #Everest history. My prayers go out to the families and friends of these brave men. I knew Ang Kaji Sherpa, one of the confirmed deaths, and waiting to hear on others. No group carries the burden of this dangerous game like the Sherpa do. The Sherpa will make 4 times as many trips through the Khumbu Ice Fall as their clients, exposing them to considerably greater risk. This week the price of this game was too high.
