This weekend Jen and I are at @altsummit in Salt Lake City hanging with our favorite food photographer Lindsey @cafe_johnsonia .
I've been traveling and flying a lot and bringing my Blendtec blender with me. So here's how I travel with a blender: • Place my mason jar with lid screwed on inside my blender with a cozy hand knitted sleeve to protect it • Place my blender base inside my backpack first, then angle the blender jar on top. Zip my backpack • I also pack a little container of chia seeds just in case there's no health food stores near my hotel. I need my healthy fats + protein boost to keep me full and energized • Take my backpack with blender inside as a carry on. It makes it through security with no problem. I store it up top with all the suitcases once on the plane. • Once I arrive to my city, I just look for a grocery store the day I land or the next day and buy some... Leafy greens : fresh spinach or kale
Frozen fruit : mango, peaches or pineapple
Fresh fruit : bananas
Liquid-base : filtered water or coconut water
And that's how I keep up the green smoothie lifestyle while traveling. So even though I indulge while eating out, I at least have one green smoothie a day to keep things (ahem) movin' along. :-) So what yummy food spots, smoothie/juice bars should we check out while in Salt Lake?
