My friends and family started asking what I was doing to make such transformative changes in my lifestyle. I wanted to show everyone I came in contact with how easy it was to blend up leafy greens. The people around me started buying their own blenders, making green smoothies, and getting the same results as me: weight loss, lots of energy, and cravings for healthy food. People ask how I’ve maintained the weight loss (because to this day those 25+ pounds have never come back on). And my answer is focus on progress not perfection. Sometimes we’re chasing a very specific weight loss goal, and when we don’t get there, we feel like a failure. I personally focus on daily habits. Just do at least one small healthy habit a day. And experiment with what works best for you and your lifestyle. I’ve tried everything: Master Cleanse (lemonade diet), Paleo, South Beach diet, Weight Watchers, the list goes on. Most of those were all short term and so ultimately don’t last as a longterm lifestyle choice. I found what works best for me is a meal plan + shopping lists that are aligned with the type of food that I know is good for my body. I feel crazy busy as a mom and so if I don’t have to meal plan and come up with a new shopping list every week, it saves me so much time and brain energy.
