I think I've had lash extensions for around 2-3yrs now and absolutely loved how they totally replaced the need for makeup when wanting to look glam, as having the dark fullness and definition of long eyelashes no matter the time of day or night was so pretty and such a vibe. But ultimately it wasn't me, and I didn't need to feel glam 24/7 when at home hugging my dogs and playing with my children. I put makeup on when I need to for work and embrace a makeup free unglamorous life the other 99.9% of my existence and that's something that I feel strongly about sharing online - the reality of being human. I'm still a massive fan of eyelash extensions and think that they look so beautiful as an alternative to applying temporary lashes for an evening or few hours at a time. But the reality is that I spent the majority of my life without them, enjoyed them whilst I had them and now I'm returning to a stripped back version of me. So here I've gone for foundation, a gold eyeshadow and brown eyeliner for my awards ceremony makeup instead, minus lashes, and whilst it may seem like a different kind of glam I still feel preened and pampered. I realised quite some time ago that the main physical features and things that people complimented me for most were those which I'd added to my appearance - a tan, hair colour, nails, lashes, implants, clothing etc. and without them the compliment may never have existed.
