Remember when I asked for advice on places to go to break the journey up between Cornwall and London? SO many of you recommended @woolleyghotel. It's part of the same group of hotels as Fowey Hall (the @luxuryfamilyhotels) so we decided to go there given that we had such a nice time. We were actually going to stop off at the Orange Elephant ice cream place in Exeter for a few hours to break up that journey - but both babies were fast asleep so we just carried on. Will have to go there next time! Anyway, it was perfect, even if it was a bit rainy. ☔ it's a very different feel to the one in Cornwall - it's actually due it's renovation later this year. But the oldy-worldy feel of it added to its charm. And despite being old it was immaculately clean. The staff all went above and beyond and we actually met so many nice people there. Alf actually made a little friend, Lily, and would chat away with her at meal times. And we'd chat to other parents over drinks on the sofa at night. It was just a really warm and special place to stay. We spent lots of time in the Den as a family, but Alf actually had a really bad night on our first night (he was up at 2am and we couldn't get him back down so Tommy had to take him downstairs around 4:30am) so he didn't fancy taking advantage of the free 90 minutes of childcare. It was such a shame for us as we were hoping to get 90 minutes sleep! But next time, as all the childcare providers were so lovely🤣❤️ It's such a beautiful part of the world - it felt like we were living in a bit of a fairy tale. In the stereotypical English countryside of the olden days. It's definitely made me want to visit some of the other hotels on their roster. Have any of you been? Maybe for winter or next year. 🙏❤️ We loved checking out the local town, and even drove over to Babbington House to check it out whilst we were close. Next time we want to see Bath (I ran the half marathon there but haven't actually seen much of it) and Frome. Anyway, I fully recommend. ❤」8月17日 4時55分
