Meet Boo, a spectacled bear @rolling_hills_zoo. This species got its name because of the rings of light fur around the eyes, which look like a pair of glasses. Very little is known about these bears, but we do know that habitat loss is driving them out into the open, leading to run-ins with humans. In an effort to protect this gentle giant, this species is protected by international trade laws, and organizations are working in communities near bear habitat to spread the word about the benefits of protecting them.
